Ben Martz applies over 15 years of Internet and technology experience to the task of bringing the PortalSoft vision to life. He brings a unique depth and breadth of expertise in both low-level system architecture and high-level design issues, including databases, networking and user experience.
While working at PortalSoft’s parent company as an analyst and developer, Mr. Martz designed the case and document management system that formed the basis of the spin-out. He was the logical choice to continue to lead a diverse team of national and international developers and other experts to develop Portal4Law as a commercial product.
While working at JP Research, Mr. Martz architected and developed software tools to analyze field data on accidents and injuries and to facilitate communication among engineers, biomechanical experts, and programmers working on complex research projects. As a developer at Connectix Corporation he worked on its award-winning Virtual PC virtualization software product. Some of Mr. Martz' work at Connectix produced US Patent 7,506,265 - “System and method for displaying images of virtual machine environments.”
Before leaving Michigan to experience Silicon Valley life, Mr. Martz was an engineer at Branch Internet Services where he was responsible for the provisioning, deployment and maintenance of high-reliability Internet services including peer connectivity and Gateway 2000's online ordering system. One of Mr. Martz' crowning achievements at Branch was the architecture and development of a real-time load balancing and transparent failover solution for high-demand web servers.
