Ajit Dandapani

PortalSoft, Inc. founder Ajit Dandapani is the consummate entrepreneur/visionary/engineer. With 25-plus years experience in innovative software development, he has pioneered multiple software technologies, managed startup and medium sized companies and personnel, and is knowledgeable in both product development and corporate infrastructure.

Prior to launching PortalSoft, Inc., Mr. Dandapani was CEO of JP Research, a forensic expert and research firm serving the automotive industry worldwide. He also served as vice president of engineering and services for NARUS of Palo Alto where he built an engineering team, developed products and managed the services group to deploy products to customers.  He was the senior director of engineering for Silicon Graphics, Mountain View and managed the development and delivery of several software products that helped bring in hundreds of million dollars in revenue for the company.

Mr. Dandapani also worked with HP/Intel/Stratus strategic alliances to drive changes to Intel Chip architecture, which led to the building of fault tolerance systems. He holds multiple U.S. patents for cluster computing and several patents pending in clustering and high availability software. 

The software entrepreneur has presented and hosted seminars on emerging technologies on clustering, high availability and networking at various forums and conferences throughout the world.  He currently serves on the board of directors of JP Research, Inc. and FifthGeneration Technologies, a manufacturing automation software company based in Chennai, India.  Mr. Dandapani also actively participates in the Alliance of CEOs.

Mr. Dandapani received his MSCS from the University of Maryland at College Park, MD in 1979 and his BSME from Guindy Engineering College, University of Madras, India in 1975.
